With Beachy, you now have the ability to send an automated text to customers on the first day of their booking for scheduled products. Sending a "sales trigger text" will only text customers on the first day of their booking for that particular product sales trigger.
Follow the steps below to set up a scheduled text.
1. Create a "Sale Trigger" on a product schedule
Navigate to Products in the Management Suite and select the product to which you would like to attach a trigger.
2. Select the schedule to attach the "Sale Trigger". In this case, the product has two schedules, "Half-daily" and "Daily".
3. Click on the schedule and then click "New sale trigger"
4. Fill in the form that appears. The "time of day" is the time that the text will be sent on the first day of the customer's booking. The message field should contain whatever is sent to the customer, including links to purchase products.
Notes:
- Text messages will only be triggered for bookings that occur during the sales trigger send time.
- Customers will only get 1 text message per day.
- If the same phone number is used on multiple checks we will ensure that duplicate texts are not sent to that number.
- Texts for same-day bookings are sent only for orders that are completed before the trigger’s set send time.
- If an order is within 1 hour of the send_at time it will still send. For example, if the order is from 8am to 12pm but the trigger is 12:30pm, the text will send.
- Texts are sent on the first day of fulfillment only. Texts are not sent every day of a multi-day booking.
- Texts are sent only for one product on the order. It will be the “first product.”
- We store the opt-in on the order's check object.
- If an order is canceled after its notification is created, the notification will still send.
- The worker to create text notifications runs every 10 minutes, and the worker to send notifications runs every 5 minutes.
